What is dubbing?

Dubbing is defined as making a copy of a sound or video recording by transferring it from one medium to another, or by combining two or more sound recordings into a single composite soundtrack. Dubbing a copyrighted recording will require the permission of the artist or song owner as well as the label or owner of the recording. You may be able to obtain this permission via the Performance Rights Organization that represents the recording you wish to use.
