We only ever sing from hymnbooks. Do we need a license?

A Church Copyright LicenseĀ® is required when the lyrics/music for authorized songs are reproduced, for example, if they are projected from a computer or copied into service sheets. This license would also be required if you record your services for limited distribution (e.g. for those unable to attend in person) even if you only used hymnbooks for congregational singing. If you never do any of these activities, you would not require this license. However, your church may require other licenses if your services or church activities include the use of any copyrighted material.
