Do I need a license to score music by hand?

Creating your own arrangement is a provision under the Church Copyright License® as long as: 1) the song is authorized, 2) it is to be used to assist the congregation, and 3) there is no published version of the music available. If all points do not apply, you would need to contact the song’s copyright owner for permission.
