Can we record our services if they include music?
The Church Copyright License® permits you to record your services, including authorized songs performed live, for the benefit of those unable to attend or for your own archive. If you audio/video record a song, please report this using the Recording fixation of the Church Copyright License® (if you are in a reporting period).
The recording provision for the Church Copyright License® does not allow for re-recording (dubbing) of commercial sound recordings, including backing tracks. If you are streaming or webcasting your services, the CCLI Streaming Plus License™ permits you to include authorized artist tracks, backing tracks or multitracks within streaming, but not for recordings. Otherwise you would need to contact the the song or recording owner that represents the recording(s) you want to play.
