How often do I need to report?

As reporting can be done automatically or manually, how often you need to report depends on the licenses you hold and which method you choose.

Auto-reporting is enabled by connecting participating worship, planning, or presentation software to CCLI’s Reporting tool. As long as it is set up correctly, auto-reporting is continuous.

Manual reporting for the Church Copyright License® is done on rotation every two and a half years. Every six months, 20% of our customers, including a range of denominations, locations, and sizes, are selected to report their copy/usage activity. The publishers are satisfied that this is sufficient representation of the church as a whole.

Manual reporting for the CCLI Streaming/Streaming Plus™ and Rehearsal Licenses is ongoing, and you should report whenever authorized songs are used under these licenses.
